Market Research Association – Yangon (MRA) set up with local market research agencies held its 2nd Annual General Meeting on 2nd December 2020 afternoon, virtually through Zoom meeting app.
The objectives of this event are
(1) to help the individuals and organizations who need market research, and market research professionals, access to the knowledge and landscape of market research industry in both Myanmar and the Asia Pacific region, and
(2) to inform the updated professional and financial performance, and strategy of MRA to the government, non-government, business and other relevant organizations as well as to the public.
During the event, the opening speech was delivered by U Ye Min Oo, Minister for Planning & Finance of Yangon Region Government, and an official of Central Statistical Organization presented about national level surveys. Afterwards, there were two presentations from ESOMAR World Research given by Mr. John Smurthwaite (Ambassador of ESOMAR APAC) and Ms. Marita Schimpl (ESOMAR Representative for Myanmar) on “Landscape of Marketing Research Industry in Asia Pacific Market” and “Impact of Covid-19 on the Market Research Industry” respectively. They attracted the audience.
Another interesting content of the agenda came up later – a lively panel discussion on “Current and Future Landscape of Market Research Industry in Myanmar” moderated and discussed by the experts and professionals who are playing the key role in market research industry of Myanmar. Then Q&A session came in which the participants asked some questions to which the panelists responded. The meeting was successfully ended at about 4:00 pm followed by a short media interview.
Market Research Association (Yangon) is an organization officially registered since June 2018 which was set up with the core objective of enhancing the development of Myanmar market research industry by strengthening the skills and capability of market research professionals in Myanmar.
