In his opening speech, U Myint Thaung, Minister of Planning and Finance, expressed his appreciation to the founder and Chairman of Market Research Association (MRA) – Yangon, U Moe Kyaw, and everyone involved for great effort put into forming the association. He said he was happy to acknowledge that the Association is going to be up and running starting from today.
He remembered the time when the Association got approval for registration since everyone believed it had been initiated with the purpose of helping the business sector. Now it was a pleasure for him to see everything has been settled –association is well established; objectives are explained; and positions are defined. He was very glad that U Shu Kyin, the Chairman of Myanmar Statistical Association (MSA), attended the event and welcomed the MRA with everyone. He stated that market research is a concept largely related with statistics, but branched out as a new tool, encompassing many more areas of study. With this in mind, he firmly believed supports from Statistics Association are very much needed. On behalf of Yangon Region Government, he stated they have fully acknowledged the MRA and its objectives.
Together, he expected to see all the members and non-members organizations continue the journey with hard work and strong cooperation, and support the MRA as needed. He himself took Statistics as his major during the Yangon Institute of Economics. In Statistics, there are two main areas of study – Applied Statistics, and Mathematical Statistics. He and his fellow, U Shu Kyin, were among the rare students who majored in Mathematical Statistics. Remembering those good old days, and considering he has a great passion and interest in this area, he is ready to take on any tasks given for the MRA, willing to support it as necessary and that requests are welcomed.
Seeing a long journey the founding members have taken, he has confidence in the capacity, resources, and knowledge that those organizations have equipped themselves with. He was aware that market research services have been introduced since 1993, reaching the age of 25 years. He mentioned that as the market has become bigger in terms of size as well as types of products and services, there are changes in data collection methods and software applied. As for the private sector, research agencies help the business leaders make decisions that can have a great impact on their businesses, and the economy as a whole. On the other hand, market research should also play an important role in assisting the Yangon Region government with data, offer advice based on insights in policy formation that are feasible and imperative for various sectors. Hence, he stressed that he expected the MRA to play this crucial role. On behalf of the Yangon Region Government, he said he would like to let everyone know that the advices on issues given to the Government from the MRA are welcomed and would be highly appreciated.
Positioned between the two countries that are economically powerful – China and India, he talked about the ongoing consideration for market situation of Myanmar. He brought up that considerations have been taken regarding the market situations with India in that pulses and beans export to India; rice export to China. He concluded the speech by expressing his request to see the MRA give the Yangon Region Government a hand with tackling some ongoing challenges in the future.

ေရွးဦးစြာ ၀န္ၾကီးဦးျမင့္ေသာင္းက ေစ်းကြက္သုေတသနအသင္းၾကီး (MRA) ၏ တည္ေထာင္သူႏွင့္ ဥကၠဌျဖစ္သူ ဦးမိုးေက်ာ္အပါအ၀င္ အဖြဲ႔ၾကီးတည္ေထာင္ရန္ အဖက္ဖက္မွ ၀ိုင္း၀န္းကူညီခဲ့သူမ်ားအားလံုးကို အသိအမွတ္ျပဳ ေက်းဇူးတင္ေၾကာင္းေျပာခဲ့ျပီး ရန္ကုန္တိုင္းေဒသၾကီးအစိုးရအဖြဲ႔ကိုယ္စား ဆုမြန္ေကာင္း ေတာင္းေပးခဲ့သည္။
ေစ်းကြက္သုေတသနဆိုသည္မွာ စာရင္းအင္းပညာရပ္နယ္ပယ္မွ ခြဲထြက္လာေသာ ပညာရပ္တစ္ခုျဖစ္ျပီး ဖြင့္ပြဲအား ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ စာရင္းအင္းပညာအသင္း၏ ဥကၠဌျဖစ္သူ ဦးရႈက်ိန္တက္ေရာက္ဂုဏ္ျပဳသည့္အတြက္ အထူး၀မ္းသာမိေၾကာင္းႏွင့္ အသင္းၾကီးဖြဲ႔စည္းခြင့္အတြက္ ေထာက္ခံဖုိ႔ ၄င္းအားတာ၀န္ေပးအပ္စဥ္တြင္ ရည္ရြယ္ခ်က္ေကာင္းမြန္ေသာ အဖြဲ႔အစည္းျဖစ္သည့္အတြက္ ေထာက္ခံမႈခ်က္ခ်င္းေပးခဲ့ေၾကာင္း ဦးျမင့္ေသာင္းက ေျပာၾကားခဲ့သည္။
၀န္ၾကီးက ၄င္းသည္ စာရင္းအင္းပညာရပ္အား ရန္ကုန္တကၠသိုလ္၌ ဦးရႈက်ိန္ႏွင့္အတူ အဓိကဘာသာအျဖစ္ သင္ယူခဲ့သူျဖစ္ျပီး ေစ်းကြက္သုေတသနဆိုသည္မွာ စာရင္းအင္းပညာကိုအေျခခံသည့္အတြက္ ၄င္းအား က်ရာတာ၀န္ေပးရန္ႏွင့္ စာရင္းအင္းေမဂ်ာေက်ာင္းသားေဟာင္းအေနျဖင့္ ယင္းပညာရပ္ကို အသံုးခ်ေသာ အသင္းအဖြဲ႔ၾကီးကို ကူညီခ်င္စိတ္အျပည့္အ၀ရွိေၾကာင္း ေျပာၾကားခဲ့သည္။
ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံတြင္ ေစ်းကြက္သုေတသနကို လြန္ခဲ့ေသာ ၁၉၉၃ ခုႏွစ္ကတည္းက စတင္မိတ္ဆက္ခဲ့ျပီး သက္တမ္း ၂၅ ႏွစ္ရွိလာျပီျဖစ္သလို ေစ်းကြက္က်ယ္ျပန္႔လာသည္ႏွင့္အမွ် လူသံုးကုန္ပစၥည္းအမ်ိဳးအစားမ်ား၊ စားေသာက္ ကုန္ပစၥည္းမ်ား စံုလင္လာသလို စားသံုးသူကိုအေထာက္အကူျပဳေသာ ၀န္ေဆာင္မႈမ်ားလည္း အမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳးရွိလာျပီ ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း၊ ယင္းအခ်က္မ်ားသည္ သက္ဆိုင္ရာကုမၸဏီမ်ား၏ စီးပြားေရးဆံုးျဖတ္ခ်က္ခ်မွတ္ရာတြင္ အေရးၾကီးသလို ႏုိင္ငံအတြက္ စီးပြားေရးမူ၀ါဒခ်မွတ္ရာတြင္လည္း အေရးၾကီးေၾကာင္း ၀န္ၾကီးက ေျပာၾကားခဲ့ သည္။
ဆက္လက္ျပီး အသင္းၾကီးအေနျဖင့္ ပုဂၢလိကက႑ ဖြံ႕ျဖိဳးတိုးတက္ေရးအတြက္ အခ်က္အလက္မ်ားကို စုစည္းေပးႏိုင္သလို ႏုိင္ငံေတာ္အတြက္၊ အထူးသျဖင့္ ရန္ကုန္တိုင္းေဒသၾကီးအတြက္ မည္သည့္လုပ္ငန္းမ်ိဳး လုပ္သင့္သလဲ၊ မည္သည့္ေစ်းကြက္မ်ား ခ်ဲ႕ထြင္ႏုိင္သလဲ၊ ေစ်းကြက္မ်ားကို မည္သို႔ခ်ဲ႕ထြင္လွ်င္ ေအာင္ျမင္ ႏုိင္သလဲဆိုေသာ အၾကံဥာဏ္မ်ိဳးကို ေပးအပ္ပါကလည္း ေက်ေက်နပ္နပ္လက္ခံပါမည္ဟု ေျပာၾကားခဲ့သည္။
ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံသည္ ႏိုင္ငံၾကီးႏွစ္ႏုိင္ငံၾကား က်ေရာက္ေနသည့္အတြက္ ေစ်းကြက္အား ေန႔စဥ္ႏွင့္အမွ် စဥ္းစားေနရ ျပီး အထူးသျဖင့္ တရုတ္ျပည္သို႔သြားေသာ ဆန္ေစ်းကြက္ႏွင့္ အိႏိၵယဘက္သို႔သြားေသာ ပဲေစ်းကြက္တို႔အေပၚ အထူးေတြးေတာေနရသည့္အတြက္ တိုင္းေဒသၾကီးအစိုးရအဖြဲ႔ကေသာ္လည္းေကာင္း၊ ႏုိင္ငံေတာ္အစိုးရအဖြဲ႔ကေသာ္လည္းေကာင္း ေစ်းကြက္သုေတသနအခ်က္အလက္မ်ားကိုလိုအပ္ပါက ေစ်းကြက္သုေတသနအသင္း ၾကီးအေနျဖင့္ လုိအပ္သလိုပူးေပါင္းေဆာင္ရြက္ေပးပါဟု ေမတၱာရပ္ခံရင္း နိဂံုးခ်ဳပ္ခဲ့သည္။
