Myanmar Statistics Forum 2018 was held at Myanmar International Convention Centre 2 in Nay Pyi Taw on 2 November 2018. The forum was opened by H.E U Henry Van Thio, Vice President followed by welcome remarks by Minister For Planning and Finance and development partners, prize awarding to winners of Statistics Quiz and data show. The Data Show gave opportunity to government departments as well as development partners alike to showcase examples of use of statistics and data in their daily work.
There were two panels named “Data Revolution and Data Culture in Myanmar” and “Statistics User-Provider Dialogue”. U Aung Min, MMRD Research Director and Secretary of Market Research Association (Yangon) took part in the Panel 2 as a panellist. U Aung Min discussed the topics on” how are business using data to better understanding of Myanmar’s needs and Taste and known-unknown about Myanmar market”.
There were three paper reading sessions as well. The paper reading sessions provided a platform for the respective speakers of the governmental statistical clusters to present their work. Daw Thet Thet Naing, Head of Database Department of Myanmar Survey Research read “State of the Art- Survey Data Management and Quality Control”
Although it was the first statistics forum in Myanmar, it was successful to meet the following theme’
